Plot Summary The story adapts the "Kingdom of Women" (Daughter Country / Womanland of Western Liang) episode from the classic Chinese novel Journey to the West. Tang Sanzang (the Buddhist monk) and his disciples — Sun Wukong (the Monkey King), Zhu Bajie (Pigsy), and Sha Wujing (Sandy) — enter an all-female kingdom during their journey to the West. The kingdom's residents believe men are dangerous and deceptive. The travelers get captured, and a romance develops between Tang Sanzang and the young Queen. They must find a way to escape while dealing with a powerful River God angered by their presence, complicated by themes of love, duty, and forbidden romance.
